"Photography is by nature a documentary art"

Based out of Marshall County
I’m Lorianna Watkins. I’m originally from Franklin County, but I moved an hour away to Marshall County in 2021. Here, I settled in with my husband who bought my beloved Fujifilm for my 21st birthday. In 2022, I had my sweet (and daring) daughter. Then, in 2023 I graduated college with my Bachelor’s in K-5 Education. I went on to teach first grade for two years, and I’d just started paid photo sessions during that summer. In 2024 I had my wild as a buck little boy. Not that I didn’t adore teaching, but for my kiddos, my husband and I decided it’d be a great option for me to be a stay-at-home mom homeschooling our babies. As a stay-at-home mom, I also pledged my heart to my photography as I’m growing my business full time while my kids aren’t in school.
I love music, most specifically old school. A few oldies on my favorite playlist are Voodoo Child by Jimi Hendrix, Beast of Burden by The Rolling Stones, and In the Summertime by Mungo Jerry. My other taste in music includes a multitude of genres, all except country (unless we’re talking Chris Stapleton, that man’s voice has SOUL). A second hobby of mine is thrifting. In 2016, a former Hammer’s Department Store employee brought my attention to a store called Goodwill and the rest was history (shoutout Emily). While Goodwill is getting a little greedy, I’d prefer to thrift at stores elsewhere now. Why buy nice neat new things, when you can have well-loved items with a story am I right? The last hobby I’ll talk about, not even including photography, is really any kind of art medium. I’ve found joy and creating personal pieces for my children’s walls in their bedrooms, sculpting miniatures, and making cards for holidays. Maybe call me cheap, but I’d rather produce a meaningful card than spend $5 for a cardstock one.
While my hobby list is about a mile long realistically, the one I’ve put focus on is photography. I adore putting meaning behind images that people can appreciate for a life time. Those moments will forever hold still along walls and in frames. My job as your photographer, is to create authentic seconds I can capture. I put a lot of thought into sessions and how I can make clients enjoy them. I don’t want pictures to feel like a chore or another thing to worry about. Book with me, and I’ll ensure your session is hassle free.
